To wear the Carmelite habit is so easy but to live what it signifies and follow the footsteps of Jesus are not, since self-denial, self-forgetfulness and the courage to take up the cross are necessary every day. My fidelity also calls for a constant trust in God’s mercy and love.
When I made my Simple Profession of Vows little was changed in my physical appearance but the desire to serve God grew more. I felt that my heart and my soul were transformed in a way that only God and I can understand. To become a Carmelite is a pure grace from God, and I am aware of the great responsibility I have before Him and His people. At that blessed moment, I did not feel any fear because I believed that God would always assist me in my needs and that He would not test me beyond my ability.
